My Story

IMG_0559.jpgThank you for your interest in my work and profession.

I am a professional auctioneer with over 30 years of diversified experience in the auction industry.  My passion for auctions came at an early age attending commercial livestock barn auctions with my father from the time I was four. One year before graduating from the University of Tennessee with a Major in Animal Science,  where I was a member of the UT Livestock Judging Team, I graduated from Missouri Auction School in Kansas City, MO. My professional education also includes completing the 3-year program and graduating from the Certified Auctioneers Institute held at Indiana University.
I have been involved in the purebred cattle industry since childhood. My auction experience, in addition to managing sales and auctioneering in the purebred cattle industry on a national and regional level, includes wholesale and classic automobiles, agricultural and heavy equipment, farm, residential & investment real estate auctions, Thoroughbred horse auctions and High-Profile Charity including “CAN” (Corporate Angel Network) held by National Business Aviators Association. I have conducted and been involved with auctions in over 30 states and Puerto Rico.

In addition to marketing of a number of breeds including: Red Angus, Angus, Simmental & SimAngus, Charolais, Chiangus and more, I have been on the block and at ringside for several other species of livestock including, Boer Goats, Club Lambs, as well as, Quarter & Cutting Horses and Standardbreds.

Adding to cattle & horse auctions, I’ve conducted heavy equipment auctions in a contract auctioneer capacity for programs such as Ritchason Auctioneers, Equify Auctions, Assiter Auctioneers and others.

I am a partner in the online marketing and webcast auction site, Co-Host of This Business of Beef , Host of Championship Drive and People Business Podcasts. I also serves as Writer, Executive Producer and Co-Host of the syndicated radio program called “The Jim and Jeff Show” currently broadcast on our flagship station at WSM Radio in Nashville with several other Southeastern markets currently being negotiated and added. Recently, I have become host of Cattle Market Mobile Minute, a video blog of current news trends affecting the beef cattle industry available on the Cattle Market Mobile app, as well as YouTube and Facebook. I have also served as President and Vice-President of the Middle Tennessee Angus Association. And for a number of years served as the Tennessee Chaplain for the National Fellowship of Christian Auctioneers.

My family and I make our home in the Clarksville, Tennessee near Nashville.
